《失乐园》是十七世纪英国著名诗人、思想家、政治家弥尔顿的最伟大诗作。它的题材取自《圣经旧约.创世纪》,但并不是对这一经典的简单描摹和扩写,而是在英国清教影响下进行的阐释,充分体现出英国清教的教义和信条。

＂Paradise Lost＂ was written by Milton who was an English famous poet,thinker and politicians in the 17th century.This great book is based on the story of Genesis,which is the first part of ＂the Holy Bible＂.But ＂Paradise Lost＂ is not a simple copy nor expansion of ＂the Holy Bible＂,but a illustration of it which is under the influence of the Puritanism.In all,＂Paradise Lost＂ has reflected the ideas and faith of the Puritanism.
