With aesthetic values of the technique of blank-out of traditional Chinese painting analyzed,and with fashion design cases as examples,the paper elaborates the skills of applying blank-out in modern fashion design from the perspective of visual effect in order to achieve the harmony between art and design,between design and market.Personal opinions are put forward as to the practical application of blank-out in modern fashion design.
