Virginia Woolf's experimental writing Orlando:A Biography has long been known for its presentation of "androgyny";however,it also embodies Woolf's idea of "new biography",of the "perpetual marriage of granite and rainbow" as proposed in her essays.Weaving the historical facts with the writer's delicate imagination,Woolf in Orlando:A Biography gives us a different experience from those conventional biographies, practices what she advocates about "new biography",and highlights the significance of imaginative truth to the subject's personality and to the art of biography.
