As the spiritual mentor of the Jewish writer Isaac Bashevis Singer,the philosopher Spinoza has a multidimensional and far-reaching impact on Singer＇s thoughts and his literary creation,which is typically reflected in his short novel ＂The Spinoza of Market Street＂.By employing the novel as a case and Spinoza＇s philosophy as a reference,the essay tries to explore two issues with the method of intertextuality：first,how Singer switches from ethic world to artistic world through art processing;second,what Singer has discarded concerning Spinoza＇s world view.In doing so,we can comprehend Singer＇s complex ideas and unique personal belief.
