The preparation of 2,6 dichlorobenzaldehyde by using the indirect electro oxidation of 2,6 dichlorotoluene with manganic sulfate was investigated. The optimum conditions were determined. The yield of 2,6 dichlorobenzaldehyde was up to 20%,which afforded a large yield in a shorter time comparing against those reported in literature.
