本文通过对一个普通的美国青年克莱德的悲剧意义的探究,全面并深刻地探讨了腐朽没落的美国社会风气、社会制度使青年人逐渐堕落,并最终走向毁灭的历史必然性,由此人们可以看到:资本主义社会一直宣扬的所谓的"法律面前人人平等"的口号只不过是一句空话,是不可能真正实现的。从这个意义上来说,克莱德的悲剧不仅仅是个人的悲剧,更是整个美国社会的悲剧。

With the study of the tragic meaning of a common American youth,the author deeply studies inevitability which the decadent and moribund American social general mood of the 21st century and the social system finally makes the young men become degenerate and exterminated,from it,we can see that the slogan that all men are equal before the law,which the capitalist society always advertises is just an idle talk,it can not be realized;From above we can conclude that the tragedy of Clad is not only his own tragedy but also the tragedy of the entire American society.
