摘要
英语是一种包容性极强的语言,在人类使用英语的两千多年的历史中,英语不断与其他语言发生碰撞、融合、渗透的现象,常出现其他语言中的词汇直接被借用到英语中成为英语词汇的现象。汉语和英语也发生了渗透现象。本文从语音相近的角度,根据粤语的发音衍生而来的英语单词这一现象来进行探讨,说明粤语对英语的影响力之大并试析这背后的文化渗透现象。
English is a strongly inclusive language.In the over 2000 years history during which people use English,English continues clashing and merging with other languages.It is common to see that many non-English words are introduced into English and used by English speakers.There is infiltration between Chinese and English.Beginning with comparing Cantonese and English phonetically and illustrating the phenomenon that there are a number of English created according to the Cantonese pronunciation,the paper will reveal the influence which Cantonese brings onto English and try to explicate the phenomenon of cultural infiltration behind.
