This article analyzes the current situation and existing problems of translation teaching in high school by looking into the position of translation teaching in the high school English class. It demonstrates the great effect of the differences between Chinese and western languages on translation skills. It argues that great attention must be paid to the differences between Chinese and western languages in the high school English class especially in translation teaching, and cultural awareness must be developed among students to improve their translation skills.
