从授粉受精作用、胚胎发育过程、树体营养供应和子房发育生理等方面评述了中国板栗空苞形成机理的研究进展。

Some main research progress on empty shell formation mechanism of Chinese chestnut is reviewed, especially in the respect of fertilization, pollination, embryology, nutrition and ovary developmental physiology. Further research directions are also presented for raising the yield of Chinese chestnut.
