This article refers to the significance and relationship between man and nature both in Thoreau＇s natural ethics and Daoism.By interpreting and exploring Thoreau＇s Walden with over two-year practice in Walden Pond,it proves the philosophy is similar to the thoughts of Chinese Daoism in nature with beauty and simplicity,and by deeply developing the wisdom from their thoughts with theories of modern environmental protection to be able to fulfill new transcendentalism of sustainable development for human beings.
