摘要
桐城谚语在语言表达上注重修辞艺术。在语音上具有音乐性,单句形式谚语以五言、七言为主,节奏鲜明;复句形式谚语大多押韵,押韵形式灵活多样。在用词上常对举使用反义词,使音节整齐对称;善于运用当地方言词,使谚语呈现出很强地域色彩,更有利于谚语为当地群众服务。在句式上"整"中有"散",给人一种参差美。并运用多种修辞格式,不仅使谚语语言生动形象,更使其本身所传授的知识更具艺术吸引力。
With a good emphasis on its rhetorical art in expression,Tongcheng proverbs enjoy musicality in pronunciation,strong rhythms in five-and seven-charactered single sentences,and various and flexible rhymes in its heavily-rhymed couplets.Just as the frequent use of antonyms contributes to its metrical symmetry,so the equally frequent use of dialects,which endows the proverbs with a strong locality,helps to serve the native speakers well.A sense of discursiveness pervades the whole sentence structure,creating a beauty of irregularity.Moreover,the manifold rhetorical patterns render the language more vivid and the imparted knowledge more artistically appealing.
