The U.S.has played a key role in dealing with the Korean Peninsular Crisis.After Obama assumed his presidency,the situation on the Korean Peninsula has dramatically changed,which has drawn more attention to the policy of the Obama Administration toward North Korea.Actually,after the Secretary of State Hilary Clinton visited Asia in the spring of 2009,Obama＇s North Korea policy has been altered.The increasingly intensified situation on the Korean Peninsula has rendered the U.S.a great opportunity to reinvigorate its leadership in the world and to reinforce the triangular alliance of the U.S.-Japan-South Korea in East Asia.The U.S.has put the greatest pressure on North Korea through the unceasing joint military maneuvers short of war,which has also contained and slowed down the momentum of spreading China＇s power into the Asia-Pacific region.Obama＇s fundamental idea regarding foreign policymaking is to be a realistic idealist and an idealistic realist.The core of his policy toward North Korea is to be softer wherever should be soft,and to be tougher wherever should be tough,forcing the other to yield through toughness.
