This paper first briefly introduced the whole life and academic achievements of Mr.JI Xian-lin,the great master of Beijing University.It recalled the influence of books on his reading and learning in the course of his growth,mainly discussed his way to greatly exploit library collections both home and abroad for his learning and study work from the angle of a reader,and revealed the truth that he has learned from his experience of reading and learning.
