和谐农村是和谐社会的理想在农村的实现。和谐农村实现的条件和基础是农村经济、社会、文化的全面发展。农村经济、社会、文化发展离不开农村科技支持。因此必须重视农村科技的发展,努力提高广大农民的科技文化素质,培养农村科技人才。在和谐农村建设中,不仅需要发展农业科技,实现农业的现代化,而且还要发挥其他科技以及社会科学在农村政治、文化和环境建设中的作用。发展"后现代农业"才是农村和谐的真正基础和根本方向。

Construction of harmonious rural areas is to realize the ideal of the harmonious society in the countryside.Realization of harmonious rural areas must be based on all-round development of rural economy,society and culture.Such development has to be supported by rural-based science and technology.Therefore,we must pay attention to and emphasize development of rural-based science and technology and make efforts to improve farmers＇ quality of science and culture and cultivate scientific talents in rural areas.In construction of harmonious rural areas,it is necessary to develop agricultural science,modernize agriculture,and give full play to other science,such as social science,in political,cultural and environmental construction in rural areas.The real and essential orientation of construction of harmonious rural areas is to develop post-modern agriculture.
