A Study on Opposite-sex Peer Communication and Self-concept development among Middle School Students

摘要 目的探究初中生异性交往与自我意识发展之间的关系。方法采用自编的初中生异性交往问卷和田纳西自我概念量表,抽取浙江地区2145名中学生作为样本进行研究。结果 (1)初中学生的异性交往以及自我意识发展总体状况良好。(2)异性交往中,女生的交往水平显著高于男生(P<0.01)。(3)异性交往与自我意识的发展之间显著相关(P<0.01)。(4)初中学生异性交往水平显著预测自我意识的发展(P<0.01),尤其对社会自我的预测力更强。结论初中生的异性同伴交往对其社会化有着重要的影响。 Objective To study the relationship between opposite-sex peer communication and self-concept development among middle school students.Methods In this investigation 2145 junior middle school students in Zhejiang province were studied by the self-developed questionnaire of opposite-sex communicating and the tennessee self concept scale(TSCS).Results Firstly,most of students had good skills on opposite-sex peer communication and enhancing self-concept development.Secondly,the average score of female students was significantly higher than that of male students in the survey of opposite-sex peer communication.Thirdly,there was a significant correlation between opposite-sex peer interpersonal communication and self-concept development.Fourthly,the ability of opposite-sex communication was a good predictor for self-concept development,especially for the self-social development.Conclusions The ability of opposite-sex peer communication is important for middle school students’ socialization
