摘要
本文简略地介绍了委婉语的定义和类别,并试图通过具体例子来分析新闻报刊英语中委婉语的积极意义和消极意义。对新闻报刊英语中委婉语的研究,不仅有利于提高对委婉语的鉴赏能力,而且也有助于对新闻内容的准确把握。
This article briefly introduces the definition and classifications of euphemism,and tries to analyze the positive and negative meanings of euphemism＇s social functions by the usage of some detailed examples.By the study of the euphemisms in English newspapers,it can help not only increase the ability of appreciation,but also grasp the news content accurately.
