德国莱因威斯特法利亚能源公司（RWE）在莱茵河褐煤矿区尼德奥森火电厂正在建设一台950MW褐煤机组，前期工作于1997年12月开去台，计划在2002年11月投入商业性运行。这台机组在技术上和经济上都是目前德国最先进的。根据计算，其热效率可达到45．2％。
German RWE Energie company is building a lignite-fired unit of 950MW at NiederauBem thermalpower plant in Rhein river lignit mine area. The preliminary work of this project began in December 1997, this unit isplanned into commercial operation in June to August 2002. Now the technique and economical level of this unit aremost advanced level in Germany. It is estimated that its heat efficiency will be 45.2%.
