Ethnic Cultures and Ethnic Education

文章以中华民族多元一体格局为视角,探讨了多元文化、民族文化、民族教育的关系及其重要意义。认为作为民族文化遗传方式的民族教育应当体现自己的民族性,一体多元的中华民族德育,都是应当研究的对象;强调要防止、克服任何民族歧视观念,确立多元文化、多元文化教育的理念,在教育过程中要以积极态度学习、借鉴、吸收各个民族文化中的优秀成果。

This paper attempts to explore the relationships among cultural pluralism, ethnic cultures and ethnic education from the perspective of the Chinese culture as a unity of all ethnic cultures. It is postulated that ethnic education, as an approach to transmitting ethnic culture, should have a character unique to the ethnic group although due attention should be appropriated for research into the moral system of the Chinese culture as whole. It is also suggested that measures should be taken to prevent and root out any form of ethnic prejudice and discrimination, and that emphasis should be placed on awareness-raising of cultural pluralism and the importance of multicultural education as well as on mutual sharing of valuable elements of all ethnic cultures.
