In an elliptical corefiber directional coup-ler with stroug coupling, we consider the waveguide of coupling region as a perturbed form of rectangular wave-guide, obtaining the propagation constant formula and coupled-modeequation of eigen-mode amplitude. Then the polarization characteristic of the coupler is give.
