University library is one of the important positions of carrying out the ideological and political education for university students,and being as an important pillar of university,university library should shoulder the task of carrying out the ideological and political education for university students.This paper expounds the position and function of university library in carrying out the ideological and political education for university students,and puts forward some measures for carrying out the ideological and political education for university students based on improving the self-quality of the librarians.
