Quality-oriented Education in Educational Reform:a Strategic Motif

主要阐述素质教育及其重点,同时提出了文化素质教育与通识教育、中学素质教育与高考制度改革等问题。对素质教育的"素质"不能作狭义理解,素质教育的重点在于培养学生能力特别是实践能力。它是党中央为适应当前科技发展形势、提高民族在世界上的竞争力提出的培养能力创造型人才的战略决策。

This article mainly discusses quality--oriented education and its key points put forward about literacy education, conmmon sense education, liberal education, middle--school education and college entrance examination system reform. Quality--oriented education regards ＂quality＂ not narrowly for inler-pretation, but as practical abilities on the part of the students. This is what the CPC has stated for adapting to the present-day scientific and technological development with which to enhance the nation＇s international competitive strength.
