"Going to Southeast Asia" and "Moving Westward":A Comparative Study between Fujian and Shanxi Businessmen

明清时期,封建经济高度发展,出现了中国历史上影响深远的十大商帮,其中闽商与晋商是当时独具特色的两大商帮。两者在兴起、发展、壮大及衰落的过程中,既有一定的共性因素,又因所处的微观环境不同,而各具特色。比较闽商和晋商之间的异同得失,总结其兴衰的经验教训,对于现代商业的健康发展无疑具有很好的借鉴意义。

The feudal economy was highly developed during Ming and Qing Dynasties,thus there appeared the ten far-reaching business groups in Chinese history,of which business groups of Fujian and Shanxi are the two distinctive ones.In the process of the rise,development,expansion and decline,they share some factors in common,but also differ from each other because of different micro environment.A comparison between them and a summary of their experiences would undoubtedly offer good references for the healthy development of modern commerce.
