Translation of names of scenic spots:Taking Wuyishan scenic area as a case of example

国内风景区景点名翻译存在许多问题。文章以武夷山风景区为例,简要分析了景点名英译中存在的问题,并分析其原由,讨论景点名梯级翻译标准,论述景点名翻译相应的5大类翻译方法。

A brief analysis of the common problems involved in the translation of the name of scenic spots in China is presented with Wuyishan scenic area as a case of example.With a discussion of the cause of the translation problems,the translation norms and methods of the names of scenic spots are expatriated.While stressing that hierarchical norms should be applied in the translation of the names of scenic spots,it is maintained that two or more methods can be jointly employed to attain better translation effect.
