摘要
莎剧电影以其独特的视觉方式诠释着莎剧,而对莎剧电影的研究正逐渐成为莎学研究的一个重要方面。帕克的电影《奥瑟罗》在原剧本中奥瑟罗人物原型基础上,对奥瑟罗的形象进行了重构,强化了奥赛罗作为一个他者的形象。电影从四个方面来强化这种他者形象:奥瑟罗的异族特征、性爱倾向、种族自豪感和暴力特征。电影对奥赛罗的这种视觉重构也反射出了当代意识形态与文化对帕克及其电影《奥瑟罗》的影响。
Shakespearean film,as a new form of performing Shakespeare's plays,has appeared and begun to gain increasing popularity.It has become so unique that some critic assumes it as a genre.This paper first presents a brief filming history of Shakespeare's Othello in the 20th century in order to show the special state of Parker's film.Then,it analyses the visual reconstruction of Othello's otherness in Parker's film,which is characterized by Othello's being exotic,sexual,ethnically proud,violent and menacing.This paper finally expounds the impact of contemporary ideology of racism and anti-racism and influence of ideology of popular culture in the latter half of the 20th century upon the reconstruction of Othello's otherness in Parker's film
