Objective：To discuss the social benefit and economic value of the traditional Chinese medical composition＇s three properties.Methods：The traditional Chinese medical composition＇s three properties are discussed by use of economics analysis and social benefit theory created by William M.Landes Rechard A.posner in American.Results and conclusion：It is important for the social whole benefits＇ growth to regulate the traditional Chinese medical composition＇s three properties strictly.In addition,the authorized traditional Chinese medical patents which contain three properties should be protected absolutely.At the same time,the balancing mechanism ought to be built up in the patentees and the public.
