公在"大跃进"的三年时间里,中国科技运动从"大跃进"初期的准备、号召与动员,再到后来各行各业百舸争流的热火朝天态势和跃进浪潮的迭起,经历了科技"大跃进"的特殊时期。然而,在"大跃进"赶超思想的影响下,科技"大跃进"既谱写了中国科技运动史的新篇章,为后来中国科技事业的发展铺垫了基石之路,也表现出了"高指标、瞎指挥、浮夸风、共产风"的鲜明时代印记,无形为后来中国科技事业的顺利发展戴上了"大跃进"的"紧箍咒"。
