摘要
文学作品中颜色纷呈,构成文章风格迥异的主题基调。图形—背景理论作为基本的认知原则,对于译者把握篇章隐喻的凸显和翻译过程中的句式转换有一定的帮助。《鲁迅小说选》和英译本中的隐喻颇多且多带有色彩变换或重叠,因此运用图形—背景理论对杨宪益、戴乃迭和莱尔两个英译本中天色、脸色两大主题颜色隐喻的译法进行探讨,可凸显作品中的篇章隐喻,有效避免翻译中图形背景的错位,进而构成主题凸显的句型,使译本达到和原作一样的篇章隐喻效果,以促进文学译本的传播。
Various colors in literary works are often the origins of different thematic bases.Figure-ground theory,as the basic cognitive principle,can enlighten the translators to get a better understanding of the textual metaphor salience and sentence pattern conversion in the translation process.Based on the figure-ground theory,we explore color metaphor translation in Lu Xun's Selected Works and its two English versions,which are full of meaningful metaphors and color changes or overlaps,from two themes: sky color and face color.The conclusion is that figure-ground theory can help to highlight the textual metaphor in literary works,avoid the misplacing of figure-ground in the translation process,form the theme-prominent sentence pattern,get the same textual metaphor effect,and facilitate the spreading of translated versions.
