英汉两种语言中有各自独特的称谓语,显示出两种不同的文化特征。其中不乏性别歧视的称谓语,但也有民族文化的自然产物。文章探讨两种语言中称谓语差异产生的社会、历史渊源,比较其深层文化内涵,旨在解读称谓语中的性别歧视现象和自然文化产物之间的关系,以消除误解。

There are unique address terms in both the Chinese and the English languages,revealing two different cultural features.Of all the terms,some show gender discriminations,others are the natural products of the cultures.This paper discusses the social and historical origins of the address terms of the two languages and makes a study and a comparison of their profound cultural implications with a view to interpreting the differences between the phenomena of gender discriminations and the natural products of the cultures and to removing misunderstandings.
