全球化背景下中美高低语境文化的对比研究

A Discussion of Chinese HC and American LC in the Context of Globalization

全球化背景下不同文化之间的交流日益频繁。在跨文化交际中,文化语境非常重要。Hall的文化语境性理论分别将中国文化与美国文化划分为高语境文化和低语境文化。Hymes、Verschueren等也提出了见地独到的语境观。本文以话语交际风格为例,讨论在全球化背景下中美高低语境文化的差异与融合。

In the context of globalization,there are more and more cultural exchanges between one nation and others.Context is the environment of language use and cultural context is very important in intercultural communication.The American anthropologist Hall has classified context into high context and low context,and analyzed cultural diversity from the differences of high context（HC） and low context（LC）.According to Hall,Chinese culture is a high-context one whereas American culture is a low-context one.Hymes and Verschueren also put forward their theories of context.This article,on the basis of those theories concerned,will briefly analyze the differences and integration of Chinese HC and American LC in the context of globalization.
