Femtocell发展势头正好 需统一标准完善生态系统

Femtocell gains a sound momentum but requires unified standards and supportive ecosystem

毫微微小区(femtocell)是2007年上半年露出水面的一项新技术,笔者曾著文(《现代电信科技》2007年第10期)详尽介绍过。虽然femtocell的优势和潜在好处已被众多移动运营商所认同,但是任何一项新技术的成功需要有统一的标准,需要完整的生态系统来支持,否则就不可能把市场做大。

Femtocell,also known as home base station or 3G access point,is an ultra-small mobile base station for the sake of 3G coverage and mobile broadband in recent years.Femtocell ecosystem has been continuously developing more broadly and deeply since 2007,which makes Femtocell market evoluting from the initial introductory phase to growth phase.From the fourth quarter of 2009 to the third quarter of 2010,Femtocell market showed its considerable vitality,and mobile operators had a growing interest in Femtocell.During the third quarter of 2010,the number of networks with Femtocell deployed increase from 13 in 8 countries to 17 in 11 countries.Of Femto Forum members,mobile operators increased to 58,along with 72 equipment suppliers,which fully shows that the ecosystem of Femtocell has a healthy growth.As of the third quarter of 2010,there are totally 17 networks with commercial Femtocell service,and 24 with coverage commitments and around 60 in field test.Informa Telecoms & Media anticipates that Femtocell market will gain significantly growth within the next few years,and the Femtocell access points (FAP) will reach 49 million by 2014 when 114 million mobile users have access to mobile networks via FAP.The advantages and potential benefits of Femtocell have been recognized by many mobile operators,but as a new technology,its success requires unified standards and a supportive ecosystem,otherwise it is impossible to make a big market.
