摘要
现代认知语言学研究表明转喻不仅是一种修辞手段,而且是人们日常说话、思维和行动的一种方式。转喻不仅具有指称功能,而且具有解释功能,对提高学生的语言和语用能力有重要的作用。从认知语言学的角度考察,根据转喻的认知机制和心理特点来解读,可以发现高级英语课本中有丰富的转喻语料,可以培养学生的转喻思维能力,提高学生的阅读能力和语言表达能力。
Cognitive linguistics proves that metonymy is not only a rhetorical device, but also a communicative, thinking and performing way people use daily. Metonymy has both referential and exp]anative functions, and it plays a very important role in improving students linguistic and pragmatic competence. The paper explains the conceptual metonymical phenomenon in Advanced English from the cognitive perspective based on the cognitive motivation and psychological characteristics to develop students cognitive thinking and improve students' English reading and communicative competence.
