中国大遗址积淀了中华几千年文明,对现在的社会、精神文明和核心价值都有很大作用。大遗址作为古代人类的重要居住点,大多位于现代城市之下或是临近城市。随着城市化进程的加快,许多建设项目与大遗址相关联,多数表现为一种对立的关系。城市化进程是不可阻挡的,而文物保护工作也是必须要做的,阶段性目标的实现和最终的保护结果不是绝对意义,遗产保护过程本身就是意义。

The Great Sites of China accumulate several thousand years of the Chinese civilization, which is of great effect on the present society, spiritual civilization and key values. As an important resident place of ancient people, the Great Sites are mostly located beneath modern cities or near cities. Along with the acceleration of urbanization, many construction projects are related to the Great Sites, which is generally represented in a contradictory relationship. The urbanization process is irresistible while cultural relic protection shall also be carried out. Realization of the objectives of certain stages and the final protection result are not the absolute meanings. The process of heritage protection is the meaning.
