The key for Chinese ancient cities to maintain their own cultural characteristics is to increase the attention on urban cultural characteristics, and the key work is to keep and shape cultural characteristics. During developing Chinese urban cultural characteristics, the cultures of various nationalities should be respected and to shape cultural characteristics, we shall start from educating the babies. The combination of ancient city protection and tourist development shall be solved through balanced inheritance and innovation as well as scientific measures and perfect legal guarantee.
