用"四品"对中国画进行评品,必须搞清"四品"的排列次序。"四品"中的"神品"和"逸品"在排列次序上并没有高下之分,二者是并列平行的。"四品"中的"神"、"逸"二品与"妙品"、"能品"有层次之分,"神品"与"逸品"并列在上,"少品"次之,"能品"再次。

When evaluating Chinese paintings with the ＂Four Pin （appraisals）＂ principles, one has to bear in mind their order. Shen （spirit） and yi （gracefulness） are two parallel principles that are superior to the other two miao （ingenuity） and neng （skillfialness）. In addition, miao comes before neng.
