乌兰夫建设民族军队的思想是毛泽东军事思想的重要组成部分,是毛泽东军事思想在民族地区的运用与发展。乌兰夫在"四三会议"之后为了使内蒙古真正成为东北解放战争的后方基地,恢复和发展生产,进行土地改革,有力地支援了前线;乌兰夫领导的内蒙古骑兵部队在蒙汉团结中不断发展壮大,配合农村的除奸反霸和牧区的民主建政,组织内蒙古人民自卫军进行剿匪;解放战争中的内蒙古骑兵发扬了蒙古族骑兵骁勇、灵活、出奇制胜特点,采取顶、拉、侧击的战术,迟滞敌人的行动,配合主力部队战斗,屡建奇功。

Ulanhu＇s idea about ethnic army construction is an important component of Mao Zedong＇s Military thoughts and is its application and development in ethnic regions.After the April,3 meeting,in order to make the northeast the rear base of the Northeast Liberation War,Ulanhu resumed production,carried out land reform and offered supplies for the front.The Inner Mongolian chivalry under his leadership continually strengthened accompanied the elimination of traitors and anti-hegemony struggle in the countryside and the democratic construction in the pastoral areas.He also organized self-defense corps to suppress bandits.Inner Mongolian Cavalry was brave and flexible in using various war tactics to delay enemy actions and cooperate with the major corps and as a result won lots of victories in the war of liberation.
