Discussion on the Factors Affecting Optical Fiber's Strength and Lifetime

摘要 为了预测光纤的寿命,对光纤寿命的影响因素(Weibull指数m,疲劳指数n,强度保持因子B)进行了详尽地探讨。如要获得高强度、使用寿命长(强度衰退慢)的光纤,就要充分注意光纤制作的每一环节,以期提高Weibull指数m;并合理地使用密封被覆技术提高光纤的疲劳指数n。 In order to predict optical fiber's lifetime the factors affecting optical fiber's lifetime,including m,n,and B,are discussed in detail.And in order to obtain the optical fiber product with high strength,long lifetime(slow strength reduction),it is necessary to pay attention to each link in the fabrication of optical fiber,so as to enhance Weibull index m,and using hermetic coating technology to enhance optical fiber's fatigue factor n.
