How to improve the available ATM network resources utilization and offer the wanted QoS for the users is an important topic to study. The measurement - based analysis acts on the existing ATM system. It measures and analyzes the traffic and the resource in the system. The CAC (Connection Admission Control) manages the traffic in the ATM system . How to use the measurement - based analysis and the CAC together to manage the ATM networks resource is introduced, in order to maximize the resource utilization and offer the QoS the users want.
