谢灵运《劝伐河北书》辨议

An Analysis of Xie Lingyun's Memorial to the Throne on the Northern Expedition

《劝伐河北书》是谢灵运研究中必不可少的文献,惜乎历来的研究者对其关注不够。本文在检讨了前修时贤的诸种说法之后,断定谢灵运上书的根本动机在于:鉴于自己与宋文帝之间的摩擦,借上书以表白自己对文帝及刘宋政权的政治态度,以求得到文帝的理解;同时在书中也表明了自己从此将归隐林泉的人生志向。从谢灵运日后的政治遭遇来判断,此书曾经发挥过一定的积极作用。

Memorial to the Throne on the Northern Expedition is the most important reference for the study on Xie Lingyun. However, very little attention has been paid to it. In the present study on the basis of a review of the previous scholars＇ viewpoints about Xie Lingyun, we conclude that his fundamental motivation of presenting the memorial to the throne was to show his political attitude toward the Emperor Wen and the regime of the Song Period in a hope to alleviate his contradiction with the Emperor Wen. At the same time, he also expressed his wish to become a hermit. Judging from his later political encounters, this memorial to the throne played a positive role.
