从家庭模式、父母形象及母子关系等方面来看,劳伦斯的后期短篇小说代表作《木马赢家》具有隐含的俄狄浦斯情结结构。与其前期小说不同的是,《木马赢家》中的俄狄浦斯情结主要表现在对小说中母亲形象的负面刻画上,而这与劳伦斯后期的思想是一致的,表明劳伦斯对现代西方物质文明的剖析和批判达到了新的深度。

Judging from the family pattern,mother and father images and mother-son relationship,The Rocking Horse Winner by the famous English writer D.H.Lawrence,entails a hidden structure of Oedipus Complex.But the Oedipus Complex in this story shows different features from those of Lawrence's early works.Namely,the mother image in the story is somehow negative.This has resulted from Lawrence's new attitudes towards the mother and the father in his later works.
