The Differences between Appellation in English Chinese in Different Cultural Contexts

语言与文化共生、共存。由于文化背景不同,英汉称谓语存在着种种差异。本文将英汉称谓语分为亲属称谓和社交称谓,分别从文化角度审视这两种称谓在汉语和英语中的差异,以期更好地了解英汉不同的社会文化,更好地促进跨文化交际。

Language and culture are symbiotic and coexistent.Because of the different cultural background,appellation in English and Chinese varies greatly.Appellationin in English and Chinese is divided into the relative appellation and the social appellation.From the cultural perspective,the differences in English and Chinese of the two appellations are examined in this paper in order to better understand the different social cultures and promote cross-cultural communication.
