刘师培的图书编纂思想丰富多样、颇具章法,主要表现在四个方面:一、主张编纂教科书以图教育救国;二、提倡编制书籍志以保护地方文献;三、力主校释、编纂经史典籍以继承并光大传统文化;四、倡导编纂地方志等以发扬国学,保存国粹。

Liu Shipei,s thoughts on book writing are rich and various,which demonstrate themselves in the following four aspects：firstly,he held the view that writing textbooks could revive the country through education.Secondly,he advocated that compiling book chronicles could save local chronicles.Thirdly,he wanted to compile classicsa nd histories to inherit and develop traditional Chinese culture.Fourthly,he wanted to compile local chronicles top romote the study and preserve of Chinese culture.
