摘要
在明末佛教昌盛的环境中,隐元隆琦复兴福建福清黄檗山万福禅寺,开出临济宗黄檗派。南明时期,应长崎唐人邀请,隐元等黄檗派僧人先后东渡,弘法日本,终于开出京都黄檗山万福禅寺,形成黄檗宗。黄檗派所代表的大陆佛教,为生机不振而亟待重生的日本佛教所接纳,得以开立新宗,延续至今。临济宗黄檗派的传播及其衍生的黄檗宗,在中日佛教乃至文化交流史上都有着重要的地位。
In the context of prosperity of Budhhism toward the end of the Ming Dynasty,Chan Master Yinyuan Longqi reconstructed Wanfu Temple on Mount Huangbo in Fuqing City of Fujian Province,establishing the Huangbo Sect of Linji Chan School.During the Nanming period(1644-1661),Yinyuan and other monks of the Huangbo Sect crossed the Eastern Sea and arrived in Japan where they spread the Dharma,the true teaching of Linji Chan School and at tracted many Japanese monks.As a result,Yinyuan built a new temple,also called Mount Huangbo Wanfu Temple in Kyoto,and establishing the Huangbo Chan School of Japan,which continued to develop up to now.The dissemination of the Huangbo Sect of China and the generation of the Huangbo Chan School of Japan based on the model of the former hold an important position in the history of Buddhism and cultural exchanges between China and Japan.
