A series of political and economic events in the beginning of 1930s was undermining the impermanent balance of Ver- sailles - Washington system. Britain was satisfied with the current situation and tried to maintain it, while Japan wasn't satisfied and tried to change it. But, they were all considering the new foreign policies at that time. From their own interests, the two countries once wanted to sign a Nonaggression Pact in 1934 though their relations were tense because of trade conflicts. In order to clarify the international history of East Asia, it' s necessary to analyze and evaluate the cause and effect of this event.
