Quiet Flows the Don,a war novel,mainly deals with the cruel conflicts not only between the Red Army and the White Army but also between the two camps and parties of cossacks joining in the two armies respectively in the Don River valley during the Russian Civil War after the Great October Socialist Revolution.When the story was narrated,human beings were pressed and tested under the millstone of revolution and war.Their psychology and behaviors as well as their existence and choices in that period were examined from the aspect of humanity.The writer called humanity and peace by raising the question： ＂Borne are we of the same root;should you now burn me with such disregard？＂
