A Comparative Study of Multi-Pulse Modulation Schemes for Modular Multilevel Converters

摘要 主要分析了模块组合多电平变换器的拓扑结构和工作原理,根据实际需要分析了模块组合多电平变换器各功率模块的SPWM脉冲的时序,基于现有的MMC样机和控制系统提出了两种SPWM脉冲调制方案,即载波移相方案和脉冲移相方案。本文详细分析了两种脉冲调制方案的原理,并进行了基于QuartusII软件的仿真和样机实验研究。实验结果表明:载波移相方案产生的SPWM波形质量优于脉冲移相方案,直流电压利用率较高,但其产生思路较复杂,相比脉冲移相方案占用了更多的控制芯片资源,且由于DSP的扩展能力有限而存在一定的局限性。脉冲移相方案扩展性能好,产生原理逻辑简单,且软件资源占用少,尤其适用于多路SPWM输出。 This paper presents the structural characteristics and operating principles of modular multilevel converters.Considering the actual requirements,SPWM pulse sequence suitable for modular multilevel converter is analyzed in detail.Two pulse modulation techniques,carrier phase shifted(CPS) technique and pulse phase shifted(PPS) technique,are proposed based on the existing modular multilevel converter prototype and control system hardware.Moreover,the principles of the two corresponding modulation schemes are studied by means of simulation and experiment.Study results indicate the difference between CPS and PPS,that is,CPS generates better SPWM pulse and features with higher dc voltage utilization compared with PPS.Meanwhile,CPS will take up more resources of control chips,and has limitations caused by limited expandability of DSP.Compared with CPS,PPS has better expandability,more simply control logic,as well as less control resources requirements,so it is suitable for multiplex SPWM pulse generating.
