Wang Chang＇s unfinished criticisms from the manuscript Xi Yan Shan Ren Ci Hua,which garners the author＇s whole life work in literary criticism,particularly his views on the ci poetry,has a significant influence on the ci poetry of the Zhexi school.Wang＇s criticism is a breakthrough from such earlier literary theorists as Zhu Yizun and Li E in terms of his modification of the concepts gracefulness and trans-manifestation.
