A Discussion of the Actual Status of Chinese Intellectuals Based on Behavior-Domains:Schools,Media and Associations

学校、媒体与社团是知识分子活动的重要领域。通过考察这些领域的结构特征与运作逻辑,可以解释当下中国知识分子的现状。当然,这些活动领域也是存在于特定的社会背景中,并随着社会变迁而改变的,这就意味着可以从社会变迁的视角来看这些活动领域所出现的各种问题。无论是从活动领域的视角来看知识分子,还是从社会变迁的视角来看活动领域,都既需要一种同情式的理解,也需要一种批判性的反思。

There are three important domains of intellectuals＇ behaviors： schools, media and associations. We can explain the actual behaviors of today＇s Chinese intellectuals by seeing about these above domains. We also need to know that these domains exist in specific social context and change with it, which means that we can explain the problems of these domains through the perspective of social changes. Both seeing about intellectuals from the perspective of behavioral domains and behavioral domains from the perspective of social changes need critical reflections and sympathetic understandings.
