Created by Shanghai Peking Opera Troupe, ＂ Xiao He both as a Winner and a Loser＂ presents its characters in a magnificent history course. The play profoundly involves several categories such as morality, responsibility, friendship, life, personality, inborn nature, dignity, and relationship between individualism and collectivism, which endows the play with a humanistic quality. The play goes further to a philosophical speculation and it either owns a penetrating power to social, historical, contemporary and practical problems, or looks forward to a new development in spiritual life itself.
