The research and practice of American schoolmasters＂ professional development have come into a mature stage. A set of complete system has been established,characterized by the in-service training of American schoolmasters through the rigid government legislation, the guidance by the specialized standards, the competitive operation of poly institutions, the cooperation among universities and their neighboring districts,the steady financial supports at the various levels. All these provide a good example for China in setting up the in-service schoolmasters training and promoting their professional development.
