Reflections on "the kidney governs water" in Chinese medicine

"肾主水"是肾的重要生理功能,对这一功能的概念、作用机制和过程的阐述历来教材说法不同,使教与学者常感困惑。本文对1984年以来全国统编的8种版本《中医基础理论》教材进行了对比分析研究,结合《内经》的认识提出了新的观点。冀望抛砖引玉,使这一藏象理论统一规范。

＂The kidney governs water＂,which is one of the important functions of the kidney.However there have been in textbooks different descriptions on the conception,efficient mechanism and procedure of this function which has been perplexing both teachers and students.In this paper,the author makes a comparative study on the descriptions in nationally commonly-compiled 8 textbooks since 1984,and thus put forth new points of view by consulting the traditional view points from Neijing（Internal Classic）,with a hope to solicit the wise and mature opinions from others in order to make the theory identical and standardized.
